London Majors

Description

Throughout the 2026 season, I have been working as a Motion Design Intern with the London Majors, creating motion graphics and visual content for the team. My work includes game-day graphics, win graphics, home run graphics, player-focused content, and other social media visuals designed to capture the energy of each game. Alongside creating content, I participate in weekly design meetings, contributing to the team’s creative and marketing process throughout the season.

GOAL

  1. Create engaging motion graphics that capture the energy and excitement of the London Majors and connect with fans throughout the season.
  2. Develop a consistent visual style across game-day, win, home run, and other social media graphics that aligns with the London Majors brand.
  3. Create dynamic motion content that strengthens the team’s social media presence and makes key game moments more exciting and memorable.
  4. Gain real-world experience working within a professional sports design team and contributing to the creative process through weekly meetings and collaboration.
  5. Expand my motion design skills by creating a variety of content for different game moments, players, promotions, and social media platforms.
  6. Build a strong portfolio of professional sports work that demonstrates my ability to create engaging motion graphics for a real-world audience.

PROCESS

The process began with weekly meetings with the design team to discuss upcoming games, content needs, and ideas for the season. From there, I spend the week developing concepts and creating motion graphics based on the team’s needs. Each piece was refined through feedback and revisions before being finalized for social media and game-day use. This process allowed me to turn ideas into engaging content while maintaining a consistent visual style across the team’s graphics.

PROBLEM

One of the main challenges was getting familiar with the London Majors’ brand guidelines. While the guidelines provided a strong foundation, I had to learn how to develop creative ideas while staying within the established visual style. This challenged me to find new and engaging ways to push my motion design while keeping each piece consistent with the team’s branding.

The London Majors project gave me the opportunity to create motion graphics that align with the style of work I am passionate about while gaining valuable experience in a professional sports environment. Throughout the season, I created game-day, win, home run, and other social media graphics that helped bring the excitement of the team to life. This experience strengthened my motion design skills, taught me how to work within professional brand guidelines, and allowed me to create work I am genuinely proud to showcase in my portfolio.
